Arnica Chamissonis is native to Alaska, Eastern Canada and Western United States. Arnica Montana is native to higher elevations of Europe from Scandinavia south through Spain and Eastern Europe. Absent from Britain, Italy and the Balkan Peninsula. Arnica has been combined with calendal and Saint John’s wort since antiquity to reduce pain, fight infection, repair nerves and speed healing.
