Direct sow in early spring after frost. Cover seeds lightly with soil. If sowing indoors, cold stratify the seeds in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks before sowing. Sow 4-6 weeks before transplanting out. Transplant into larger containers when first true leaves appear. Cooler temperatures between 58-62 F are best for establishing seedlings. Plants prefer full sun, well-drained soil, and will tolerate dry soils once established. Harvest fresh flowers when about 75% of the flowers are open on the plant (if all are fully open the flowers will wilt faster). Harvest flowers for drying when all flowers are open and pollen is not shedding.
Days from maturity calculated from the date of seeding. Average 31,100 seeds per ounce.
